Anagrams (Part 2 ~ Malaysian Edition)

For those of you who haven’t read Anagrams (Part 1), an anagram is a type of word play, the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce a new word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once.

Here’s the Malaysian edition:

General Election = Cleaner, Legit One – This is what the Bersih movement is fighting for.

UMNO, MCA, MIC = Um, comic man – Aren’t some politicians just funny at times?

Chua Soi Lek = Leak is ouch! – His painful response when the sex DVD was leaked out to the public.

Ong Ka Ting = Tango King – Maybe he likes to tango 😉

Khairy Jamaluddin = I amid junkyard lah! – What he exclaims in typical Manglish when he accidentally wandered into a scrapyard and got lost.

Lim Guan Eng + Betty Chew = wet beach, nutmeg lying – Penang IS famous for its beaches and nutmegs!

Karpal Singh = Phrasal King – Being a seasoned politician and senior lawyer, he was definitely good with phrases! (contributed by TARfm reader – Ah Beng)

Kentucky Fried Chicken = Unchecked Nifty Kicker – Remember the customer being assaulted not too long ago?

Char Koay Teow = What a cookery! – What an apt description of this fantastic Malaysian delicacy!

Maggi Mee = gem image – Malaysians refer to all instant noodles as ‘Maggi Mee’. Isn’t the brand image as valuable as a gem?

Wantan Mee = Wanna meet? – “Wanna meet? And eat wantan mee?” – What a boy says to his crush on WhatsApp.

Mamak stall = malam talks – Malaysians’ favourite venue for late night talks on topics ranging from government to gossips.

Kedai Kopi = I poke a kid – What I do when I go to my regular kopitiam and saw a familiar cute kid there 😉

Genting Highlands = haggled night inns – The message Resorts World would want all hotel guests to remember i.e. they are getting the best rates that have been haggled to the max.

Cameron Highlands = romance highlands – A cool, beautiful and romantic place for couples 

Segambut = tame bugs – No wild bugs here.

Serdang = dangers – Go at your own risk.

Perlis = perils!

Mid Valley = live madly – And shop till you drop in this big mall! 🙂

General Hospital = loathing relapse – Don’t you loathe a relapse of an illness, making you wait for ages to be treated in GH?

Subang Airport = abrupt soaring – Caused by an inexperienced pilot who panicked during take-off. Also describes air ticket prices at peak seasons.

Carmen Soo = O, romances! – With such a pretty face and high profile, romances won’t be lacking.

Amber Chia = Be a rich Ma – This top Malaysian model delivered a baby boy named Ashton Wong in 2010. Be a rich Mama – the aspiration of many young girls.

Marion Caunter = Nite, our car man! – What she says to her hubby, SM Nasaruddin, chairman of Naza Group of Companies, whom she married on 16 December 2010, at night.

Reshmonu = home runs – a talented local singer-songwriter who has hit many home runs in the music industry.

Malik Noor = kilo on arm – He has many kilos of muscles on his arm, the result of lifting kilos of dumb bells!

Parameswara = Ar, swamp area! – What he said when he first arrived at the location of modern day Malacca Town from the Malacca River.

Polis Diraja = paid jailors – Don’t break the law – the men in blue are paid to put criminals in jail.
